POLO G SAYS JUICE WRLD’S DEATH INSPIRED HIM TO KICK PERCOCET HABIT

Polo G has revealed that the loss of Juice WRLD played a role in inspiring him to stop popping Percocet pills on a recreational basis.

The Chicago rapper opened up about his drug use during a scene in the new RapCaviar Presents series, which hit Hulu’s streaming platform on Friday (March 31).

“It made me look at a lot of shit differently. That made me stop popping Percocets altogether, though. ‘Cause I know he wouldn’t want me on that shit,” he said of Juice. “Being able to see that and say, ‘Damn, my son can get it together — I need to [as well].”

Both being fast-rising rappers out of Chicago in the late 2010s, Juice and Polo G’s paths crossed on the music front with the duo exchanging assists on Juice WRLD’s posthumous Legends Never Die and Fighting Demons albums as well as Polo’s 2020 sophomore effort THE GOAT.

Juice WRLD passed away from fatal seizures triggered by an accidental drug overdose on December 8, 2019, at Chicago’s Midway Airport and Polo G has continued to pay homage to his “Flex” collaborator on numerous occasions.

Polo saluted the “Lucid Dreams” rhymer at the Reading & Leeds Festival in the U.K. last August where he signaled his DJ to play Juice’s “Armed & Dangerous” and told the crowd: “R.I.P. J Dawg, man.”

Back in July 2020, Polo made his bond with Juice permanent when he inked a tattoo dedicated to the late rapper on his left shoulder, which saw a globe inscribed with “999” and drenched in lean with a straw coming out of the top.

Lil Bibby confirmed in February that the next Juice WRLD posthumous album is in the works and will serve as the final installment of his discography.

“The Last Juice WRLD Album is in the works,” Bibby wrote on Instagram. “We want this album to feel like a Celebration/Party! Let’s celebrate the life of Juice [pray hands, balloon and dove emojis]. “No more mourning, I want everyone that Juice loved while he was here to help celebrate, especially his fans who he loved!”

As for Polo G, he returned on Friday (March 31) with the Marshmello and Southside-assisted “Grown Man” as fans await his joint album with producer 808 Mafia.
