The Aviator game has taken the world by storm, and punters in Ghana are no exception. The game has gained immense popularity on the MSport platform, with players eagerly navigating the skies and placing bets as the odds increase with each level.
However, as with any game of chance, there is always a risk of losing, and for one GES-employed teacher, the consequences were dire. In a Facebook post by Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, the teacher’s story was shared, detailing how he lost a bank loan of 40,000ghc in just seven seconds while playing Aviator.
According to the post, the teacher had taken out the loan to pay for his sick mother’s medical expenses, but a friend recommended the Aviator game to him as a way to make quick cash. Eager to win big, the teacher deposited 20,000ghc and hoped to withdraw it along with his winnings in a matter of seconds.
Unfortunately, luck was not on his side, and the teacher lost the entire sum in a matter of seconds. Under pressure to recoup his losses, he continued playing and lost the remaining 20,000ghc. Tragically, the teacher’s mother passed away, and he was left to shoulder the burden of her funeral expenses.
