Nigeria’s afrobeat king David Adedeji Adeleke, known professionally as Davido has revealed that Wizkid calls him every week to check on him
Nigerian superstar singer David Adedeji Adeleke, known professionally as Davido has opened up on his relationship with another heavyweight in the industry. Davido revealed in an interview that Wizkid calls him regularly to check up on him.
Apart from revealing that the two are very close, Davido added that there are plans towards a tour together somewhere next year. He added that they will likely drop a collaboration as well.
“I would be lying to you if I tell you that [the tour] is not in the talks. It’s looking like next year. I think me and Wiz are probably going to drop a record. Shout out to my brother. He literally calls me every week and checks on me. Shout out to Wiz,” Davido told Lagos-based Beat 99.9 FM as quoted by Daily Post.
Wizkid endorsed Timeless
Meanwhile, Wizkid on Friday tweeted his support of Davido’s latest album, Timeless, which was released on Thursday. He tweeted, “Y’all go listen to timeless by my brother”.
Timeless is Davido’s fourth studio album and the 30BG boss did some heavy work on it and added heavy features. Nigeria’s afrobeat sensation Asake has been featured on the album. Also, Cavemen, Morravey and South Africa’s Musa Keys as well as Beninoise’s multiple Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo are well represented on the Timeless album.
Also featured on the album is South African producer, Focalistic who is on the “Champion Sound” track while Fave has been featured on “Kante”. The song titled “U” features British-Nigerian MC, rapper and producer, Skepta.
While Asake is featured on “No Competition”, Musa Keys was hooked on “Unavailable” while Angelique Kidjo does her own on “Na Money”.
The afrobeat-themed album has 17 tracks with a runtime of 50 minutes and has already received wide acclaim by music lovers.
