ALEALI MAY REPS FOR THE LADIES WITH A NEW AIR JORDAN 6 COLLAB

Published

on

The last time L.A.-bred creative Aleali May caught our eye was while paying homage to late R&B queen Aaliyah at the M.A.C. launch party for her tribute makeup collection. Now, the fairly new Jordan collaborator is dropping some serious heat on us in the form of an Air Jordan 6 colorway made especially for the ladies with a penchant for collecting kicks.

Keeping with the simple-yet-fly nature of her first Air Jordan collab, Aleali freaks it this time with a soft “Rustic Pink” hue that takes over the entire upper and midsole portion. A nice dose of “Bright Crimson” accents are dispersed throughout as well, mainly on the heel tab and various Jumpman logos on the tongue, heel, inner lining and translucent sole. By the looks of this dope drop, we might just have yet another sneaker queen on our hands, joining a respected league of ladies that include VashtieTeyana Taylor and bad gal Rihanna amongst others.

Check for the Aleali May x Air Jordan 6 WMNS “Rust Pink” colorway to hit Nike.com and select retailers on March 15 for $190 USD. More pics below:

CHECK OUT THE FULL BAPE X DC COMICS 2019 COLLABORATION

Published

on

BAPE teams up with past collaborator DC Comics for another capsule collection, rejoining after 12 years to bring the superheroes back to streetwear again.

While the initial collab focused on Justice League faves Batman, Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman, only the former two made it into this round of apparel. Standouts are surprisingly Batman’s portion of the drop, especially the “pointed ear” zip-up hoodie (seen above) that pays homage to Adam West’s OG grey suit from the 1961 Batman TV series. Other hoodie options utilize a split design with BAPE’s signature 1ST CAMO, available in red, black and blue. Superman sees a smaller part of the set, with hoodies (sans the horns) in solid grey, black and a 1ST CAMO/blue combo. Coaches jackets and T-shirts make up the rest of the offering, and it definitely looks like Gotham City takes the crown overall.

Cop the BAPE x DC Comics collection beginning Saturday (March 30) at all BAPE locations and online. See the full set below:

Salt-N-Pepa are one of the most acclaimed and successful acts in the history of Hip-Hop. Since their debut in 1985, they have been making their voices heard as leading ladies in the male-dominated genre of rap music. With classic songs like “Push It,” “Let’s Talk About Sex,” “Express Yourself,” “Shoop,” and “Whatta Man,” and many more, they have solidified their place in Hip-Hop history. Now it is reported that Salt-N-Pepa will bring their story to the small screen.

According to Variety, Salt-N-Pepa’s life story will be the subject of a miniseries on Lifetime. The scripted Salt-N-Pepa will show the rise of Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton from struggling rappers in Queens to the peak of their ’90s popularity and will feature the duo’s music. Fellow ground-breaking MC Queen Latifah is listed as an executive producer on the project.

Along with Queen Latifah, James, Denton, Jesse Collins, and Shakim Compere are executive producers. Andy Hume, Dionne Harmon, and James “Jimmy” Maynes are co-exec producers.

We thought the upcoming Bodega collab was a fresh set of kicks, but the latest colorway for New Balance’s fan-favorite 997 model is now decked out in a “Mint Julep” hue that really deserves a toast

Named after the classic frozen alcoholic drink that’s always a big hit during spring and summer nights, this mint-themed hue is completely tonal throughout the silhouette. The suede upper looks especially dope decked out in the colorway, and paired with the tumbled leather heel counter and ENCAP midsole donning a matching tone, we can’t think of a better shoe that represents the season at hand quite like this iteration. Bottoms up!

Get the New Balance 997 “Mint Julep” now at select New Balance retailers like Sneaker Politics, who provided the equally fresh imagery below:
